Ryan and Janna were one of the cutest couples to shoot. I've known Ryan from helping with Spring Break youth camps. Janna I met through Ryan at a party and loved her friendly openness.  Our first location was a coffee field in Haleiwa.  The lush green leaves were a beautiful contrast to their all black ensemble.  This was only the second engagement hybrid shoot I'd done, using a Contax 645 and my Canon digital.

These guys were such troopers the entire day.  It had started to rain in the coffee fields and continued at our second location, Ke Iki Beach.  Even though the clouds rolled in, it set a nice soft tone that perfectly matched their sweet love.

So that is why I'm super excited, and admittedly terrified, to be shooting their wedding today using only film.  With only 160 shots I will be using all my creative judgment to capture the perfect ones. Shooting film for a wedding always seemed like a distant dream but today it's become a reality.

I truly wish Ryan and Janna a blessed new life as they start a new chapter together.
